NEUTRON FIELD MOCK-UP DEVELOPMENT FOR THE FLUORIDE SALT REACTORS NEUTRONIC RESEARCH

Experimental work at the LR-0 reactor was carried out to determine possibility of mock-up neutron field creation for fluoride salt-based reactors. Previous calculations and experiments have shown that fast part molten salt (MSR) spectrum is shaped by fluorine even Teflon material suitable neutronics in energy range. Properly selected indices can describe MSR thermal intermediate parts spectrum. Current research has focused on a deeper study using filtered experimental light water physics reactor. LiF-BeF2 (FLIBE) capsule teflon cylinders are used as filters Measured results show acceptable C/E-1 agreement reaction rates satisfactory usage FLIBE determined 181Ta(n, γ) monitor high-temperature (FHR). Concerning MSR, be reproduced some extent but not good case FHR.
